By Allison Gibbs | 01.05.2016

Some people get stressed out about asking their customers, members, or clients to pay an additional fee when purchasing tickets online for events.

Are You Forgetting Something in Your Marketing Budget?

By Serena Acker | 10.02.2014

It's officially Fall, which means that Marketing Directors everywhere are thinking about their budgets for 2015. And I'm guessing that once they set it, they're expected to stick to it with Dave Ramsey-like vigor. (Not sure how much to spend?)

There are the typical line items - like staff salaries, advertising, and SWAG to hand out like our ever-popular SpinWeb Ninjas. (We also hope that you include other important categories like inbound marketing, app development, and a website redesign.) But what about when those random unplanned expenses pop up (as they tend to do)?

Marketers are usually creatives, which means that we hate to be limited to an Excel box with a budget number in it. Sometimes when setting budgets, it's easier to simply pull a number out of the air than try to make an educated guess on what something will cost. The problem with doing that is that you can sometimes forget important categories in your marketing budget. (Doh.)

While we obviously can't set your marketing budget for you, we can certainly remind you of some line items that you don't want to forget as you look ahead to the coming year.
